We deliver the power of microbes (naturally occurring, good bacteria)
to produce higher crop yields and reduce water pollutants.

For over 10 years we have been perfecting a unique combination of microbes that maintain maximum potency throughout the manufacturing and application process.

Our Vision: fewer chemicals, greater harvests and cleaner water

ABOS was founded in 2008 as a socially responsible company that envisions a profound revolution in the agriculture and aquaculture industries by replacing chemicals with organic inputs. ABOS headquarters are located in Sebastopol, California with regional offices in Israel, China and Columbia. ABOS products are distributed worldwide. Our executive team is focused on creating solutions that:

Increase crop yields while lowering need for chemical fertilizers

Boost sustainability and long-term fertility of agricultural land

Clarify water by breaking down ammonia and other organic pollutants

Meet Our Scientists

Tracy Letain, Microbiologist/PhD

Tracy received her PhD in microbiology from Washington State University. Her focus since that time has been on environmental microbiology, working with both soil and water microorganisms. Tracy is a member of the American Society for Microbiology and The American Geophysical Union. Tracy has written numerous peer-reviewed publications and technical reports.

Bella Ohana, PhD

Dr. Ohana has over 20 years’ experience in life science with experience in developing innovative products as a former R&D Manager and head of the molecular biology lab at Sayvon Diagnostics, Ltd. Dr. Ohana received her Ph.D. from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. Her M.Sc thesis was in the field of environmental microbiology.

John Rosenblum, PhD

Dr. John Rosenblum oversees Aquabella’s facilities to ensure the proper climate for biostimulant production. John’s Ph.D. thesis and 27-year working experience have focused on energy efficiency related to water use and wastewater treatment. John has a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering and a M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from the Technion in Israel, and a Ph.D. from Stanford University in Civil Engineering.

Amazing inventions sometimes begin with an accident.

In the mid 1970s, a Buddhist Vietnamese scientist sought to help his people overcome the sterilizing effects of Agent Orange on their country's soil and water. He created a microbial product that remediated the soil and enabled the growth of crops in affected areas with some success.

Years later, through an unintentional step in the process of making the formula, he discovered the product we have today—a combination of coexisting microbes that produced higher yields and healthier crops in areas that had been once difficult or even impossible to cultivate.

From this original formula, Unleash®, AquaBella® and BioFilm Buster Pro enzyme formulas were developed.
