Manure lagoon owners can rapidly reduce odors and pollutants, and break down solids and sludge with AquaBella Bio-Enzyme.
Manure lagoon owners can apply AquaBella® directly into dairy and hog farm manure ponds. AquaBella Bio-Enzyme rapidly breaks down organic solids and sludge throughout the pond. This allows the now-liquefied manure to be moved to the next treatment step, reducing and in some cases eliminating the cost of excavation. AquaBella Bio-Enzyme also removes/reduces various pollutants such as odors, ammonium, nitrates, and phosphates. How does a single product such as AquaBella Bio-Enzyme do so many things?
Compared to other microbial products, AquaBella:
has a mixture of both anaerobic and aerobic microbes, allowing for a large variety of activities.
contains a concentred formula of beneficial soil microbes that can remove contaminants from wastewater.
has soil microbes that target and break down solids/sludge that animal-associated gut microbes cannot break down.
It's why Beck and Sons Livestock, four weeks after applying AquaBella, was able to pump out 2/3 of their previously immovable sludge. After 6 weeks, all remaining sludge was pumped, avoiding expensive excavation costs.
Valley Gate Vineyard in Napa, California, used AquaBella to lower BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) ponds.
Reata Vineyard of Napa, California needed to lower BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) and improve pond oxygen levels. AquaBella was put to the task.

AquaBella is a mixture of beneficial, naturally occurring (non-GMO) microbes that remove contaminants from water. These microbes remove and prevent the accumulation of many water contaminants such as ammonia, nitrates, nitrites, organic solids and sludge, and phosphates in both fresh and saltwater environments.
AquaBella can break down and remove a wide range of contaminants from water including sludge, nitrates, various ammonia compounds, phosphates, and odors. Additionally, AquaBella can lower Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and help prevent algae growth by limiting nutrients algae needs to grow.
AquaBella microbes will keep your fish and plants healthy and thriving. AquaBella microbes will ensure your water remains crystal-clear and free of damaging contaminants that result from fish waste, allowing your fish, plants, and corals to thrive.
Yes, AquaBella contains nitrifying bacteria that chemically convert ammonia into nitrates. AquaBella also contains denitrifying bacteria that convert nitrates and nitrites to dinitrogen gas, which will then be released into the air (see here <insert link>).
Yes, AquaBella microbes “eat” (metabolize) phosphates, rapidly removing them from water.
Yes, AquaBella treatment will rapidly lower BOD in your pond and increase Dissolved Oxygen. [vineyard case study link]
AquaBella treatment will rapidly break down accumulated sludge and solids in water bodies. This will result in the liquification of these solids such that they can be pumped out, avoiding expensive excavation costs.
AquaBella treatment will rapidly break down sludge and solids in holding tanks. This will result in the liquification of these solids such that they can be disposed of.
AquaBella’s microbes will rapidly remove and prevent the accumulation of nitrates and phosphates in water, one or both of which are necessary for algae to grow. Note that while AquaBella treatment will prevent new algae from growing, it will not kill algae that is already present.
No, AquaBella is not an algicide and cannot kill algae already present in your pond. AquaBella can help prevent further algae growth by limiting the level of nitrates and phosphates present that algae need to grow (see question 8). Algae present prior to AquaBella treatment will need to be either manually removed, or treated with a separate product that can kill algae.
AquaBella can be used as part of a treatment regime that includes algicides. If your pond has algae we recommend (1) treating your pond with an algicide or similar treatment product; (2) after 2 weeks, treating your pond with AquaBella to prevent any new algae growth. Contact us [link] for further information regarding using AquaBella with a specific algicide.
AquaBella is ready to be used and can be added directly into wastewater and ornamental ponds. For further instructions including how to calculate how much AquaBella to use, click here or contact us [link]. For purchasing AquaBella, [click here].
AquaBella will not work in chlorinated water. AquaBella should not be used in environments where chlorine is at a high and constant level – such as swimming pools or hot tubs. AquaBella will have a limited effectiveness in open water systems with rapidly flowing water, such as in creeks and rivers as it will not have enough exposure time to remove any contaminants present.
An expiration date is stamped on the AquaBella container. In general, AquaBella can be kept for up to 2 years without losing potency. AquaBella can be stored from 40 – 80˚F, and should be kept out of direct sunlight to prevent any accidental overheating from solar exposure.
AquaBella can be used on a variety of water bodies such as animal manure lagoons, agricultural waste ponds, ornamental ponds; and recreational water bodies.
Yes, AquaBella works on vineyard waste ponds. AquaBella will rapidly reduce Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) in vineyard waste ponds and increase Dissolved Oxygen levels, allowing the water to be released and used for vineyard irrigation.
AquaBella starts working as soon as it is applied, rapidly reducing contaminant levels within 1-2 weeks.
What you can expect to see depends on the type of pond being treated. For wastewater ponds with a lot of sludge, you will initially see this sludge start to “mix” into the pond water as these solids are broken down into smaller compounds. The waste pond water will then clear up as these compounds are further broken down and removed.
For ornamental ponds or lakes, AquaBella treatment should result in increased water clarity (clearer water) and healthy fish, if present.
For waste ponds with a lot of sludge you may initially see a decrease in water clarity or an increase in surface solids as the sludge is being broken down into smaller compounds that will float to the surface. As these compounds are further broken down, the surface solids will decrease and the water clarity will improve.
For ponds with any specific contaminants at issue, such as high BOD or nitrate levels, analytical tests will indicate any water quality improvements.
For ornamental ponds, there should be visual improvement in water clarity, with decreased water “murkiness”. One potential issue in ornamental ponds that AquaBella can improve is low Dissolved Oxygen (DO) levels due to high contaminant concentrations as measured by BOD. AquaBella treatment will substantially increase the DO level such that the pond can support fish and other marine life.
No, AquaBella is not an herbicide and cannot kill duckweed that is already present. In our experience, duckweed that is already present before AquaBella application must be removed by hand. However, AquaBella may be able to prevent new duckweed growth by limiting nutrient availability.
We recommend applying AquaBella in a way that maximizes the distribution of AquaBella throughout the pond. This can include using a sprayer, or using a boat to manually pour AquaBella at various points in the pond. For algae-infested ponds, we recommend applying AquaBella in the most contaminated parts of the pond – generally near the pond edges, where much of the new algae growth occurs. For further advice, please call us at XXX – our technical specialists can help you plan an approach specific for your system.
For wastewater ponds, AquaBella should be applied using a schedule that reflects the amount of new waste being introduced and treated waste being removed. For specific instructions for your system, please contact us for technical assistance.
To prevent algae growth, we recommend applying AquaBella to your pond in the spring, when warmer temperatures and increased sunlight exposure can result in new algae growth. Contact us at (link) for technical support specific for your system.
For ornamental ponds, AquaBella should be applied according to a schedule appropriate for your needs and the type of contamination present.
We recommend turning your aerator system off before AquaBella application and waiting 24-48 hours after application before turning your aerator back on as aeration can reduce AquaBella activity. We also recommend AquaBella treatment to help clean out your aerator system, as AquaBella will actively remove any build-up or accumulations.
Yes, AquaBella works well with manure lagoon bioreactor systems. Please contact us (link) for technical support specific for your system.
Yes. AquaBella works on a variety of ornamental ponds, including koi ponds. AquaBella treatment will help ensure healthy koi with vibrant colors and crystal-clear pond water.
No, AquaBella will not harm sump pumps or any other system used to pump water. In fact, we recommend using AquaBella to help clean out your pump, as AquaBella will actively remove any build-up or accumulations.
Yes, AquaBella works with freshwater, saltwater, and coral reef aquariums, keeping your fish healthy and water crystal-clear. In fact, we make a specific product, AquaBella for Aquariums, that can be purchased at Amazon.com <link>.
Applying too little AquaBella or applying it too infrequently could reduce the overall effectiveness of treatment. While adding too much AquaBella will not harm fish, plants, or corals we recommend adding no more than 5X the recommended amount to avoid overloading the biofilter system.
